Jacobsen's New ar-522 redefines performance and quality-of-cut for rotary mowers

Charlotte, N.C. (January 31, 2008) –Jacobsen, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, introduces the new AR-522™ fine-cut rotary mower – the most powerful, most versatile machine in its class.
“For turf professionals who are looking to handle heavy volumes of grass and maintain the finest possible quality-of-cut over difficult terrain, the new AR-522 fine-cut rotary is the answer,” said Brian Melka, Jacobsen’s director of product management. “No other mower in its class can match the power, the cut or the versatility.
The AR-522 features the same revolutionary TrimTek™ cutting decks featured on the AR-3, a rotary trim mower introduced by Jacobsen in the fall of 2007. The decks are designed to pulverize grass clippings with an exclusive downdraft blade for better mulching performance and to leave a smooth, superior, after-cut appearance thanks to a three-tiered discharge chute for more even clipping distribution. With a single wrench, maintenance personnel can convert the TrimTek decks from discharge to mulching capacities in a matter of minutes.
“This machine has more horsepower per cutting inch and the cutting capacity to handle the most severe jobs that superintendents
and turf managers will encounter,” said Melka about the new AR-522 which will replace the current AR-5.
Best-in-class traction capabilities are also standard on the new AR-522, with more climbing ability and on-demand traction control
easily accessible from the operator’s station. The Jacobsen AR-522 will be available to order from authorized Jacobsen dealers in March 2008. Kits to retrofit existing AR-5s with the new TrimTek cutting decks will also be available at that time.
