Jacobsen® shines at golf industry show in atlanta

 

Charlotte, N.C., February 17, 2006 - Jacobsen® and E-Z-GO teamed together at the 2006 GIS Show in Atlanta to produce one of the most unique booths in the show’s history.  Visitors were treated to a GIS-first as the Jacobsen/E-Z-GO booth was transformed into a golf course setting complete with undulating greens, clubhouse, landscaping, patio, sounds of the game and more.

“As we mark Jacobsen’s 85th anniversary this year, we wanted to commemorate our rich history in the game of golf,” said Jacobsen marketing director Karla Cuculi. “What better way to celebrate that history than with a golf-themed booth. It not only adds an element of entertainment for our guests, but it sends the message that Jacobsen is a name synonymous with golf and superior performance.”

Jacobsen’s 85 years of history in the industry was on display in many forms, including a 17-foot banner draped over the clubhouse. The 85th anniversary logo was also prominently featured on commemorative caps that Jacobsen has now become well-known for. As the show opened, Jacobsen employees lined up at the entrance of the booth to meet the massive demand for the caps - hundreds were given away in the first few minutes.

Ryan Weeks, VP of engineering and product management, announced handle and clutch upgrades to the PGM®22 and GK® 500 series. A video displaying the InCommand™ control system looped inside the clubhouse, generating positive buzz throughout the show. The new variable speed control feature had people talking about its many benefits. 

“GIS was a huge success for us,” said Cuculi. “We’re very excited about the incredible response we received and we are going to continue capitalizing on the momentum gained from the show.”
