Charlotte, N.C., February 22, 2007 - Jacobsen®, a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, is bringing golf course superintendents and maintenance technicians the next generation in bedknife technology by launching the newest MAGSystem™ with MAGKnife™. The MAGSystem offers the ability to have the best quality-of-cut at any time, on any turf and in any conditions.

"A number of significant improvements have taken the premier bedknife system on the market and elevated it to the next level," said Brian Melka, director of product management for Jacobsen. "While the MAGSystem may not be for everyone, it is perfect for courses that put a premium on having quality playing conditions that result from a precise cut."

The premise behind the newest MAGSystem is simple: mowers perform their best with a sharp blade in place. MAGSystem allows superintendents and maintenance professionals to keep a sharp MAGKinfe on their equipment at all times.

As conditions change, sharp MAGKnives can quickly be rotated into action to meet the specific needs of each course while providing a superior cut.

The newest MAGSytsem features a new trivalent coating for increased rust resistance. It also uses more magnets that are stronger to securely hold the bedknife to the bedbar, with dowel pins for exact blade alignment and proper reel setup. The fall-away feature of the MAGSystem provides enhanced reel protection to ensure the safety of the reel if an operator accidentally hits a sprinkler head or other obstruction. All MAGSystem backings are now the flattest in the industry to decrease the amount of maintenance required to setup and begin cutting.
